Adding a puppy to your household is normally a truly enjoyable decision. It is also a choice that comes along with several very important decisions that will need to be made– one being when to start training your new dog. The sooner you begin training your dog with a professional dog trainer in Carrier Mills, the easier it will be to stop unwanted and unpleasant habits. This is because from the start you are setting clear boundaries and rules for your dog to follow. By withholding training from your dog, you are not doing any favors by your dog and unfortunately may possibly be putting them on the wrong path. Similar to a kid with no rules or boundaries, they will push their limits again and again again and can typically be unpleasant to be around. And to no fault of their own, they have just never been taught what is expected of them and what is appropriate and what is unacceptable.
Getting your dog trained correctly is quite possibly one of the best things that you can do for him or her. Not only do they respond to the commands that you give, but they also tend to be far happier, and more fulfilled dogs compared to dogs that are not. This is because you are providing mental stimulation; which allows them to put their brain to use instead of becoming bored and looking for ways to amuse themselves. Trained dogs are also less likely to end being re-homed, euthanized, or surrendered to a shelter; which is why it is so essential to start training your dog as soon as possible. And if you don’t know how to train your dog or how to correct problem behaviors; then it is best to meet with a professional dog trainer in Carrier Mills. They will be able to help you to better understand what your dog may need.
More About Carrier Mills
Carrier Mills, formerly Carriers Mills and Morrilsville, also known as Catskin, is a village in Saline County, Illinois, United States. The population was 1,655 at the 2010 census. Carrier Mills was named after George Washington Carrier and his saw and grist mill, and was one of the early Cairo and Vincennes Railroad boomtowns. Carrier Mills has lost 44% of its population since the 1920 census high of 3,000. The village has a large African American population at 13%, compared to neighboring communities in the region, due to migration from the nearby community of Lakeview.
Carrier Mills has been nicknamed “Catskin” due to both an abundance of stray cats in town, and a late-19th century story of the first local merchandise and liquor store owner, Wes Cole, who was tricked by local kids into thinking a skinned cat hide was a mink stole in trade for a jug of whiskey. To this day Carrier Mills is host to the annual Catskin Days town fair and parade. The township’s school mascot is the Wildcat.
